Don’t allow a machine to answer your calls
As you well know, having your phone call answered by an automated recording trying to filter you to the ‘right’ person, or no person at all if possible, is de facto bad customer service. It’s a sign that a company has grown so big that the customers have become an irritant instead of the reason the company is in business. So why do small companies do it? Probably so they can give the impression of being a bigger company. But it is particularly annoying to be greeted by one of these filtering systems when you know jolly well that the company is only a handful of people. Your personal customer service is your advantage over the big boys – so why throw it away!?
Trash the answering system now and give your customers the attention they deserve.
